They say Patience is a flower that grows not in everyone’s garden,
and yet what a vital flower to have in thy garden.
You see Patience is a gentle friend
that sometimes wants you to stop and smell the roses.
Patience doesn’t ask you for much
except that you wait, turn and review.
I once grew Patience in my garden,
but soon rushed on to other flowers;
Hurry, Haste, & Now were their names
and they brought me instant gratification.
I watered them daily, trimmed & weeded,
and they grew while Patience wilted away.
The flourishing Hurry, Haste & Now attracted
the worst kinds of bees that stung my face as I
bent to smell their perfume again and again. I
learned my lesson as with a puffy face, I
turned to Patience who brought me butterflies
